Actionaid

For many years we have been supporting ActionAid with various long-distance adoptions with contributions to the school costs of children in various disadvantaged countries, also giving support to their families.

From March 2023 we wanted to give special support to the Ethiopia project: in Ethiopia, access to education is still among the poorest in the world. ActionAid has been working since 1989 in Ameya, a small rural district near the capital Addis Ababa, where all public schools are plagued by structural problems and a lack of basic services: problems that encourage school drop-out.

The collaboration between le vie del cotone and ActionAid to address this situation aims to:

participate in the construction of a kindergarten to provide access more than 120 children, aged 4 to 6, each year;

help furnish the structure and provide teaching materials;

support the training of 6 kindergarten teachers;

raise awareness in the community on the importance of girls' and pre-school education.
